Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Jiu-Jitsu) is a martial art focused on ground fighting and submission techniques. It’s known for its focus on leverage and technique rather than brute strength, making it suitable for practitioners of all sizes and ages. At QuanWessels Jiu-Jitsu & MMA Academy, we offer both Gi and NoGi classes, as well as NoGi Wrestling catering to a variety of interests and skill levels.
At QuanWessels Jiu-Jitsu & MMA Academy, adult BJJ classes cater to all skill levels. Beginners start with the Onramp BJJ Class, learning basic movements like hip escapes and breakfalls. Once proficient, they progress to the Onramp to Fundamentals class, where they learn key techniques such as underhooks, takedowns, and guard passing. After completing the Fundamentals curriculum, students move to the General Class, which is split by belt levels for tailored instruction.
Students can always continue their learning off the mat with our QuanWessels Infinity App.

BJJ is ideal for kids of all sizes and abilities, whether beginners or experienced, offering a great way to stay active and grow physically and mentally.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) for kids at QuanWessels Jiu-Jitsu & MMA Academy combines disciplines like Muay Thai, Judo, wrestling, and striking, offering a fun and dynamic training experience. The classes focus on building strength, agility, coordination, and self-confidence, while teaching values like respect, discipline, and teamwork. Whether beginners or experienced, kids will improve their fitness, learn self-defence, and develop mental toughness in a safe and structured environment.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is an ideal recreational sport for women, focusing on technique and leverage rather than raw strength, making it highly effective for self-defence regardless of size. At QuanWessels Jiu-Jitsu & MMA Academy, our Ladies-Only BJJ classes offer a supportive, empowering environment where women of all skill levels can build confidence and learn essential self-defence skills. The curriculum starts with core BJJ movements, such as hip escapes and shoulder rolls, alongside basic grappling techniques like takedowns and pin escapes. As students progress, they move to more advanced techniques, including underhooks, guard passing, and back takes. Each class is structured to promote continuous learning. This progressive approach ensures that women develop both strength and skill in a safe, inclusive setting.

Muay Thai, known as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” is a striking martial art from Thailand that uses fists, elbows, knees, and shins for both long-range and close-range attacks, incorporating boxing elements like jabs, crosses, hooks, and uppercuts. It is intense and effective for fitness, strength, and self-defence. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) combines techniques from various martial arts, including Muay Thai, striking, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, offering a dynamic and intense workout.
At QuanWessels Jiu-Jitsu & MMA Academy, we offer Onramp MMA & Muay Thai classes for beginners, focusing on essential techniques like footwork, basic strikes, and clinch work. These classes provide a full-body workout while building coordination and conditioning. As you progress, you move to the Fundamentals class, where more advanced techniques are taught. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you join the General Class, training with fighters of various skill levels.

Enjoy unlimited access to all classes, with all necessary equipment provided at no cost, including a Gi, rash guard, gloves, and shin pads. Our professional coaches will guide you through each class, offering personalized attention to help you improve your skills. During the trial, you’ll focus on building a solid foundation in basic techniques such as shrimping, rolls, pin escapes, takedowns, and striking fundamentals like punches, kicks, and footwork. By the end of your trial, you’ll gain confidence and a strong understanding of the basics, setting you up for success in your martial arts journey.
